When it first came out I thought it was super underrated, even with the horrible I Am a Tree serving as the big single, but now it does seem a tad inconsistent. That said, I have a new appreciation for Bomb in the Beehive - even by Pollard's standards (ie: the standards of a guy who was written at least 20 amazing album closers) it's a special song.Anaximander Fragmenthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01156969842328315463noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1296276308922609437.post-41632369904417522152019-11-23T09:43:19.870-08:002019-11-23T09:43:19.870-08:00The riff in "I Am a Tree" is one of the ...The riff in "I Am a Tree" is one of the greatest known to man.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18279116673924816599noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1296276308922609437.post-53140543046086690872019-11-07T09:12:25.190-08:002019-11-07T09:12:25.190-08:00I Am a Tree is the song that started my love affai...I Am a Tree is the song that started my love affair with GBV, so even though I hardly listen to it now I will always adore it. So, that's 14 tracks.

Plus I really like the opening track, Can't Hear The Revolution, which segues into Sad If I Lost It beautifully and Can't Hear The Revolution (though I admit that it is a bit too long).

So yes, definitely a transition album, but one filled with great songs. I love it.João Pedro da Costahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06771650386957629381noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1296276308922609437.post-69886678074560551372016-09-06T10:42:18.421-07:002016-09-06T10:42:18.421-07:00I disagree with you on "Can't hear the Re...I disagree with you on "Can't hear the Revolution," I think it's great. But "I am a Tree" and "Bulldog Skin" are two of my least favorite GBV songs, can't believe they were the ones chosen for singles. And it's almost like life and death with these releases! Well said. Thanks for the good words and for checking out the blog! Take care. Funny, too.) I distinctly recall feeling almost worried after hearing it as a single. A worry that came and went in the years that followed, as if we're actually talking about life and death here. Youth is a hell of a place. Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00471209161485026914noreply@blogger.com
